Mitchell Starc has returned to the ODI squad of Australia before the next series. He is also accompanied by Matt Short who has regained fitness following a side strain and Mitch Owen who had been previously ruled out of the T20 series against South Africa because of the concussion. They bring experience and the addition to the squad, which Australia hopes to begin the series on a strong note.
The ODI squad has also received a recall of a player Matthew Renshaw who is a left-handed batter and has not been picked in the ODI team since 2022. It is following several impressive performances in one-day matches with the Australian A and Queensland teams where he showed multiple consistent performances in scoring his runs.

In the meantime, wicketkeeper Alex Carey will be absent in the first ODI in Perth representing South Australia against Sheffield Shield against Queensland at the Adelaide Oval. He missed the opening match of the Shield as he was picked on the New Zealand tour.
Josh Inglis also comes back into the T20 squad after a minor calf injury. Nathan Ellis is another player who comes back to the team after giving birth to his first child. Glenn Maxwell is however not available since he is still recovering a wrist fracture that occurred in the new Zealand tour.
CA names squad for ODIs, first two T20Is

Cameron Green will continue his Test preparations with Western Australia after the Indian series’ ODI leg.
Chair of Selector George Bailey said: “We have named a squad for the ODI series and first two games of the T20 series as there will be some management through the back end of the series as individuals prepare for the summer through Sheffield Shield cricket.
“The majority of the T20 squad will remain together as it’s an important period in the build towards the World Cup next year, however we are trying to strike a balance to ensure we simultaneously prepare certain individuals for the Test series ahead.”
