In the Asia Cup 2025, India beat arch rivals, Pakistan by an emphatic seven wicket margin at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The captain of Pakistan, Salman Ali Agha took the first swing after winning the toss, but his wrestling team struggled to cope with organized India bowling attack.
Hardik Pandya struck on the opening delivery to dismiss Saim Ayub for a duck, his second of the tournament, giving Pakistan a terrible start to the innings. Jasprit Bumrah also easily defeated Pakistan’s hero from the previous game against Oman, Muhammad Haris. Fakhar Zaman and Sahibzada Farhan tried to stabilize the innings, but Axar Patel dismissed Zaman to put Pakistan further more behind.
Farhan top-scored with 40 runs in an otherwise poor batting effort, while captain Agha only managed three runs off 12 balls. Shaheen Afridi provided some late fight in the last overs, helping Pakistan to 127/9 in their 20 overs with an undefeated 33 off 16 balls, including four sixes. Kuldeep Yadav once again stole the show with 3/18, and Bumrah and Axar both contributed two wickets as India’s spinners dominated.

The goal was easily overtaken by India, which completed the task in 15.5 overs. The chase was given a tonal sound by Abhishek Sharma who smashed 31 off 13 balls. Captain Suryakumar Yadav of the Men in blue brought his team home easily after getting a relaxed 47 to begin the innings. This win made India give the first defeat to Pakistan during the tournament and earned them two additional points.
