Deepti Sharma picked up 3 for 45 to derail Pakistan's chase

Deepti Sharma, an Indian all-rounder, has led the ICC Women’s T20I Bowling Rankings for the first time in her career, while South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt has reclaimed the No.1 spot in the ICC Women’s ODI Batting Rankings following the latest weekly update on Tuesday.

Deepti’s 4-1-20-1 haul in the first T20I of India Women’s ongoing home series against Sri Lanka Women in Visakhapatnam was enough for the off-spinner to leapfrog Australian fast bowler Annabel Sutherland, edging her out by one rating point to lead the chart with 737 points.

Wolvaardt, however, had struck consecutive centuries in the second and third matches of their home series against Ireland (124 and 100*), to move nine points ahead of India opener Smriti Mandhana with 820 rating points as she attained a career-high ranking.

Jemimah Rodrigues got off to a brisk start

Jemimah Rodrigues, India’s Player of the Match in Visakhapatnam, has gained five places to be ranked eighth among T20I batters following her unbeaten 69 off 44 balls. Jemimah’s innings was studded with eleven hits to the fence en route India pulling off an easy win at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium. Sri Lanka Women opener Vishmi Gunaratne has jumped up six places to 64th following her 39 runs.

Indian Bowlers Make Gains in Latest T20I Rankings

India gains in the T20I bowling rankings with Arundhati Reddy (up five to 36th) and Shree Charani (up 19 to 69) both rising up the rankings.

Gaby Lewis of Ireland has surged up the ODI rankings, jumping from 45th to 18th, while her teammate Amy Hunter has also made progress, climbing from 31st to 28th. Meanwhile, South Africans Sune Luus and Dane van Niekerk emerged as the only players from their side to rise, with Luus moving up seven places to 34th and van Niekerk leaping 24 spots to 95th.

In addition, Ireland seamer Arlene Kelly, who claimed three wickets across two matches this week, has advanced in the bowling rankings from 32nd to 27th. By contrast, South Africa’s Tumi Sekhukhune moved in the opposite direction, slipping from 67th to 78th.
