India cricketing stars Yuvraj Singh and Robin Uthappa have been called in by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) as part of the probe into the outlawed betting app 1xBet.

The sources have indicated that Uthappa is called upon to present himself before ED officials at the agency head office in Delhi on Monday, September 22 and Yuvraj has been asked to appear on the same day. The summons is issued soon after the Indian players Shikhar Dhawan and Suresh Raina gave statements in the same case to the agency.

Authorities disclosed that they are conducting the investigation in the context of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), and the investigative teams explore the financial operations and the promotional practices related to the gambling site. Both Yuvraj and Uthappa also had been used in advertising campaigns at 1xBet and their words will be enlisted in the investigation.
