Karun Nair, an Indian batsman, commended head coach Gautam Gambhir for providing the players with a lot of support and motivation throughout the five-Test England tour. With several veterans retiring from the red-ball format, the Anderson–Tendulkar series signaled a turning point for India, which is currently captained by Shubman Gill.
India managed a grueling 2-2 tie in England after losing 1-3 in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia after ten years and losing 3-0 at home to New Zealand, ending their 12-year winning streak.

Nair unveiled that since the beginning, it was all about the team first and targeting to win over England in their own grounds. He ended up the series with 205 runs in eight matches with an average of 25.62 with only one fifty. Making a comeback to international cricket, Nair was not able to convert good starts into massive scores managing to convert only a 30s and 40s to big knocks even when he came in on the back of a good domestic season.
“The whole goal of the series was to do something special as a team. It was really inspiring to see this message coming from him from day one, and everyone really bought into it, which [everyone] must have noticed as the series progressed. Gauti bhai was someone who gave us a lot of encouragement and support. I can say for myself that he really gave me the confidence to go out there and give it my best. So, the whole focus was to go out there and play the way I know, to play for the team in any situation that I was in,” Nair told Revsportz.

In the future, India’s red-ball squad will host the home series against South Africa and the West Indies. In order to prepare for the forthcoming T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka, the Indian team will first play in the 2025 Asia Cup, which will start on September 9 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) under a T20I format.
