Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2025 match number 70 on Tuesday, May 27, at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. While RCB is guaranteed a top two finish, LSG has been eliminated from the playoff chase. However, the outcome of Tuesday’s Lucknow-Bengaluru game will determine who will face whom in the IPL 2025 playoffs.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by seven wickets in Jaipur on Monday, making them the first side to guarantee a spot in Qualifier 1. After playing all 14 of their league games, PBKS currently has 19 points. The RCB will end with 19 points and play PBKS in Qualifier 1 if they defeat LSG on Tuesday at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. The winner will be determined by the net run rate.

Gujarat Titans (GT), with 18 points from 14 games, are presently ranked second in the IPL 2025 points standings. GT still has a chance to place in the top two even though they finished the league stage with two losses. Gujarat will be guaranteed a spot in Qualifier 1 if RCB drops to LSG. First place will go to PBKS (19 points), followed by GT (18), RCB (17), and MI (16).

The playoff will take place from May 29 to June 3, immediately after the conclusion of the league stage. The Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur will host Qualifier 1 of the tournament on May 29. If PBKS win Tuesday’s match, the winner will take on the loser of RCB vs GT in Qualifier 1.
