In the second IPL 2026 encounter between the Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders, Anukul Roy made a brilliant catch at long on to dismiss the well-set Rohit Sharma. When Vaibhav Arora bowled, the MI opener mishandled a full-toss that flew high. Running backwards from mid-on, Roy finished the catch with an incredible dive forward to get rid of the dangerous Rohit.
Rohit Sharma takes down Kolkata
Still, Rohit Sharma proves he still got it with his blitz. At the Wankhede in IPL 2026, he bashed the Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers, in a vintage Hitman style. Chasing a daunting 221, Rohit belted runs all around the ground as he shared an amazing 148-run opening stand with partner Ryan Rickelton.

Rohit’s onslaught was so punishing that he reached his fifty in a mere 23 balls, the quickest ever in the tournament’s history. By the time he fell for 78 off only 38, which was more damage than enough to ensure Mumbai’s victory in the mammoth chase.
