The former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has been appointed as the head coach by Pakistan on the two-match away Test series against Bangladesh that will be held in Bangladesh in May.
This team is led by Grazing legend Shan Masood and includes four new-comers, Abdullah Fazal, Amad Butt, Azan Awais and Ghazi Ghori. Of these, only Ghori has an international cap which is appearing in the just concluded ODI series in Bangladesh.
The star batter Babar Azam will be back in the squad that was dropped during the Bangladesh ODI series.
A new backroom team will accompany Sarfaraz with Asad Shafiq and Umar Gul being named as the batting and bowling coach respectively.
The PCB have planned a red-ball conditioning camp of the players to be done at National Cricket Academy, Lahore. Of the squad, five players – Awais, Imam-ul-Haq, Ghori, Noman Ali and Sajid Khan – are currently taking part in the camp.
PCB Announces Training Camp Schedule Before Bangladesh Series

Sarfaraz has a successful track record in taking Pakistan to the 2017 champions trophy and has served in the backroom staff a long period in time. He was mentor-cum-manager of the Pakistan Shaheens for their series against the England Lions. Pakistan also won the U-19 Asia Cup under his tutelage in 2025.
Players in teams that will not be participating in the later round of the Pakistan Super League will participate in a camp in Karachi between April 27 and May 1 which was confirmed in a statement by the PCB.

The players of the PSL will be invited to the camp at the close of their campaign. The squad will travel to Bangladesh on May 2, with the players of the teams playing in the final joining the squad after the match on May 3.
The first one will be between May 8-12 in Dhaka and the second between May 16-20 in Sylhet.
