The singer and musician Palash Muchhal met spiritual guru Premanand Maharaj after delaying his wedding to Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana. The pair had to postpone their wedding, planned for November 23, after both of their families faced unforeseen health issues.
The celebrations were going well until the morning of the wedding, when Smriti’s father became gravely ill and needed to be brought to the hospital. Palash was treated to a hospital in Sangli within 24 hours and later transferred to Mumbai.

The family then confirmed that the wedding was only postponed owing to these health difficulties. Until then, pre-wedding activities such as the Mehendi and Haldi ceremonies have taken place. Palash went to see Premanand Maharaj shortly after his recovery. Photos from his visit instantly went viral. Many saw the visit as Palash seeking blessings during a difficult time.
No confirmation on Smriti-Palash’s new wedding date

However a sudden stop to celebrations led to widespread speculation online, particularly after well-wishers noticed that Smriti had wiped every image from her Instagram account that was connected with her wedding. Both families have repeatedly said that the decision to delay was born of unpreventable medical problems.
“The wedding will definitely happen once the situation is under control,” said Palash’s mother Amita Muchhal. In an emotional appeal, his sister Palak also asked people to not add more pressure on the already fragile circumstances. Amidst the ongoing discussions, Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 star Smriti did not turn up for her scheduled shoot either, and many of her teammates were seen. Smriti’s father and Palash have both been discharged from hospital, but neither family has arranged a new date for the wedding yet.
