— Star Sports (@StarSportsIndia) November 2, 2025 India batted first and had a tough total of 298 runs. To this, South Africa in reply scored a meager 246. The star of the match with the ball was Deepti Sharma who has made five wickets and has contributed significantly to the Indian victory. Her disciplined bowling saved the match in favour of India at crucial points.
Rohit, having been very successful as the captain himself, might identify with the feelings of the women team. He brought India to T20 World Cup victory in 2024 and the victory in the Champions Trophy in 2025. His response was not only pride but also admiration of a team who made India take home another world cup.
Harmanpreet Kaur thanks fans for incredible support after India’s World Cup 2025 win

At the post-game ceremony, Harmanpreet praised supporters and her teammates for remaining positive despite the fact that things did not go their way in the group stage, adding that they maintained the confidence to turn things around. The veteran stated:
“I am so grateful for this crowd, they have been really amazing. Thank you for being with us in all our ups and downs. Last game also, we spoke that self-belief was there, even though we lost three back-to-back games, we knew we had something special to turn things around. They stayed positive, we knew what we had to do, everyone was so involved, they were there day and night and this team deserves to be there.”

The 104-run partnership of Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana was the precursor of the 298-run total of India. Deepti had 58 runs per ball before receiving five wickets. The other batters failed to support Laura Wolvaardt who scored a valiant hundred (101) in the process.
