In a one-of-a-kind crossover, India’s Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill received a signed pair of football boots from Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.
A six-second video of the two skilled athletes’ special meeting went viral on social media. In the video, Haaland is seen signing a pair of boots and presenting them to the right-handed Indian batter. The two stalwarts of different sports were spotted wearing the white Nike jersey, leaving fans stunned.

After claiming the Champions Trophy in March, he took the Gujarat Titans to the playoffs in the Indian Premier League’s 18th season. Shubman assumed India Test captaincy ahead of the five-match series in England. He was ultimately appointed captain for the ODI side.
Shubman was also named in India’s T20I squad for the Asia Cup. The Men in Blue claimed the title, but the Punjab batsman couldn’t prove to be a bat-brandish. He also didn’t deliver in the T20Is against Australia and South Africa. He did not feature in India’s squad for T20 World Cup last month in February-March.
Shubman is expected to feature in Punjab’s next two Vijay Hazare Trophy games, against Sikkim on January 3 and Goa on January 6.
Having taken part in the India’s premier 50-overs competition, Shubman will take charge of Men in Blue for three ODIs against New Zealand. The first ODI will be played on January 11 at Vadodara’s BCA Stadium. It will be followed by the second ODI at Rajkot’s Niranjan Shah Stadium on Jan 14. The final of the series is scheduled to be held on January 18 at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore.
