The wedding between Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal has been postponed indefinitely once her father, Shrinivas Mandhana developed signs of a suspected heart attack and was admitted to a hospital in Sangli. Moreover, Palash was hospitalized a day afterwards. Smriti deleted any signs of the wedding on her social media profiles after delaying the ceremonies.
Smriti and Palash, who date each other allegedly over six years, were going to have a simple wedding at Sangli on November 23. Other events were Mehendi, Haldi, Sangeet, and even a crazy Bride Team vs Groom Team cricket match was organized, and many representatives of the Indian women cricket team were present. They had even gone viral with their engagement announcement, proposal videos and their sides of the stage content.
The feasts were rudely terminated, when Shrinivas grew exceedingly ill over breakfast. The manager of the family said that in the beginning the family thought that it was a minor case, but he was later taken to the ambulance, where he is being monitored at Sarvhit Hospital. The Indian vice-captain immediately said that the wedding would be put off indefinitely until his state was conducive.

Just as the family was beginning to digest the tragedy, word came that Palash had been admitted to a Sangli hospital. Though he was later discharged and has since returned to Mumbai, the couple’s choice to postpone all celebrations was strengthened by the back-to-back health issues.
After this, every wedding, engagement and proposal post together with the viral videos she and Palash shared were deleted. The engagement confirmation video was also deleted by close friends and teammates such as Jemimah Rodrigues and Shreyanka Patil. In the meantime, Smriti had just been instrumental in the very first women world cup victory in India, having made 434 runs in the event.
