The 24th match of the 2025 Indian Premier League saw the Delhi Capitals (DC) defeat Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by a margin of six wickets on Thursday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Consequently, DC won for the fourth straight game, extending their winning streak this season.
RCB achieved a decent score of 163/7 in 20 overs after choosing to bat first. Phil Salt (37), Tim David (37*), Raajat Patidar (25), and Virat Kohli (22) all contributed to it. Vipraj Nigam (2/17) and Kuldeep Yadav (2/18), DC wrist spinners, gave excellent performances with economical deliveries.
DC’s response started off poorly. The opposing club was in trouble at 30/3 inside the powerplay after their top three hitters left for single-figure scores. The Capitals then dominated the chase in 17.5 overs thanks to a spectacular knock of 93* (53). He had good support from Tristan Stubbs (38*), who helped the two of them put on a game-winning partnership of 111 (55) for the fifth wicket.

The dignitaries honored KL Rahul with Match Player of the Match status because of his impressive performance in the run chase. The DC player commented about his batting performance at the presentation ceremony.
“It was a slightly tricky wicket but what helped me was being behind the stumps and watching how the wicket played. From wicket-keeping I figured that the ball sat in the wicket a bit but it was consistent throughout. It wasn’t two-paced, it was one-paced. I wanted to get off to a good start and then assess.”

“It depends on the conditions, the ground and dimensions but on a wicket like this, I knew what pockets to target. Wicket-keeping gave me a feel of how the other batters played, where they were dismissed and where they hit sixes. I got a bit lucky with the dropped catch but this is my ground, this is my home – I know this ground better than anybody else.”
