Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) led by Ajinkya Rahane has suffered yet another loss to Gujarat Titans (GT) in the IPL 2026 season, in the 25th match. Friday, April 17 was the day when the game took place in the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad.
Deciding to put the bat first, Cameron Green lit up with 79 off 55 balls, with seven fours and four sixes before the innings of KKR, which reached 180 in 20 overs. GT skipper, Shubman Gill, responded by grounding the pursuit with his 86 off 50 invaluable hits, but eight fours and four sixes followed through to the lead by two balls to spare, steering his team to a five-wicket margin.
This loss leaves KKR without defeats in six IPL 2026 matches and at the bottom of the standings led by just one point. Speaking of the lengthiest winless periods in the IPL history, here we discuss the top five of them.
5. Mumbai Indians: 8 matches (2022 season)

Mumbai Indians (MI), a five-time champion had an awful beginning to the IPL 2022 with eight straight losses.
They were able to win 4 out of their last six matches in the latter part of the tournament. But it did not make much difference, and they still managed to lose at the bottom of the table with only eight out of the 14 games. It was the first season in its franchise history that Mumbai Indians finished last in the season.
4. Kolkata Knight Riders: 9 games and more (2025-26 seasons)

Kolkata Knight Riders have been experiencing a nine match-long losing streak in the IPL. In 2025, they only had five wins. They lost two of their last three matches and the other match was called off because of the rain.
In the current season 2026, KKR have already played six games with four of them being lost and the last game could not be finished because of a rain. Due to this, the franchise has nine straight games without recording a victory.
3. Kolkata Knight Riders: 10 matches (2009 season)

The KKR had a difficult time in IPL 2009 campaign as it was at the bottom of the points table with only seven out of 14 matches.
The team experienced a horror run during that season when it only won 0 games with a 10-game losing streak with 9 losses and the other aborted game. In total, they only scored three victories during the tournament. This is also the only case where KKR is at the bottom of the table in the history of IPL.
2. Delhi Capitals: 11 matches (2014-15 seasons)

Delhi Capitals (formerly Delhi Daredevils) enjoyed a low profile opening to their IPL 2014 campaign by winning two out of the first five games. But what came next was not many would have expected because of a side of players with Dinesh Karthik, Kevin Pietersen, and JP Duminy, the side had a terrible streak of results, losing 9 games consecutively and in fact ending up at the bottom of the table with only four points to their name.
The next season did not start well either as they lost their first two matches before they won their first match (against Punjab Kings, PBKS) after 11 matches without winning.
1. Pune Warriors: 11 matches (2012-13 seasons)

And at the top of the list there is the now-dead franchise of the Pune Warriors who had a strong beginning of their IPL 2012 season winning the first four of the seven games. Nevertheless, they soon went on a losing streak as they were defeated in nine out of their next 16 matches to end up in the bottom of the table with only eight points.
They started the 2013 season with two more defeats, but they eventually ended their 11-match winless streak with a seven-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals (RR) as they advanced towards a 146-run target.
