India's Rishabh Pant (centre) during a nets session at Edgbaston, Birmingham

The Indian cricket team wicket-keeper batsmen, Rishabh Pant and the bowler Arshdeep Singh, have demonstrated their football ability during practice at the training facility where the second Test against England will be played. The second match of the England v/s India Test series is going to start on Wednesday, July 2 at Edgbaston, Birmingham.

Arshdeep Singh and Rishabh Pant trained with the team for the second Test while playing football. The two members of Team India were casually passing the football to one another while wearing their training uniforms. Pant juggled the ball and displayed several headers.

Arshdeep was also juggling the ball between them as they continued to make passes. View the two players’ footage that was uploaded by a user on X (previously Twitter) below:

India lost the opening Test against England in Headingley, Leeds. With five wickets remaining on the fifth day, England took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series after chasing down a target of 371 runs in the fourth innings.

Pant scored 134 in 178 balls with 12 fours and 6 maximums at a strike-rate of 75.28 in the first innings of the India game. In the second inning, he scored 118 runs on 140 balls scrimming 15 fours and 3 sixes with a strike-rate of 84.29.

India’s Arshdeep Singh during a nets session at Headingley, Leeds

Arshdeep Singh, a pacer, may soon make his Test debut. India may substitute Arshdeep or Akash Deep for Jasprit Bumrah, who is probably going to be rested for the second Test.

Arshdeep has a higher chance of making the XI because he is a left-arm fast. Additionally, he has recent experience playing county cricket for Kent. He might be useful because of his ability to move the ball both ways and cause trouble for batters, especially the top order hitters with the new ball. In the event that Bumrah is not available, India will be keen to take on the English openers who are currently playing well.
