On Sunday, September 21, India won Pakistan by six wickets in their Asia Cup 2025 Super Four match played in Dubai with a brilliant 50 by Abhishek Sharma. This became the second victory of India over Pakistan in the tournament after they already defeated them in the group stage.
Pakistan had taken the first lead, and had scored 171/5 wherein Shivam Dube was able to score two wickets, and Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav were able to score one each. In response, Indian first wicket players Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill provided a flying start, scoring 100-run partnership. Abhishek got 74 and Gill 47, to start the chase.
Although India lost some of its wickets during the middle overs, they completed the task with ease in 18.5 overs. Tilak Varma made a significant 30 not out of 19 balls and struck the winning boundary to finish off the 6 wicket victory.

They are now topping Super 4 ranking and they will face their next match in Dubai on Wednesday, September 24 with Bangladesh.
Here are four records or milestones that India achieved during their Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 match.
4. First Indian batter to hit a six off the first ball of a T20I innings twice

Abhishek Sharma became the first Indian to hit a six off the first ball of a T20I innings twice. Against Pakistan, he smashed Shaheen Afridi’s opening delivery straight over the fence.
Earlier in the same Asia Cup, he had done the same against the UAE. Only a few other Indians—Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Sanju Samson—have done this once.
3. Highest opening partnership for India in T20Is against Pakistan

Sharma and Shubman Gill set a new record for India against Pakistan with a 105-run opening stand in just 9.5 overs. Abhishek scored 74 and Gill 47, giving India a strong start.
The previous record was 77 runs by Gautam Gambhir and Ajinkya Rahane in 2012. This partnership laid the foundation for India’s win.
2. Fastest batter to 50 T20I sixes

Abhishek became the fastest batter to reach 50 T20I sixes, achieving the milestone in 331 balls. He hit his second six of the fourth over against Abrar Ahmad to reach it.
The previous record was held by Evin Lewis, who reached 50 sixes in 366 balls. Abhishek now has 53 sixes in 359 T20I balls.
1. Second fastest fifty in IND-PAK T20Is

Sharma’s half-century came off just 24 balls, the second fastest in T20Is between India and Pakistan. He reached it with a boundary off Saim Ayub in the eighth over.
The fastest fifty still belongs to Mohammad Hafeez, who did it in 23 balls in 2012. Abhishek also broke Yuvraj Singh’s record for the fastest fifty by an Indian against Pakistan.
