Vaibhav Suryavanshi in action at the Under-19s Asia Cup in the UAE

During the first innings of India A versus Pakistan A in the Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 event, Vaibhav Suryavanshi offered Ubaid Shah a mouthful before slamming him with a superb boundary.

After Irfan Khan won the toss and chose to bowl first, the in-form Suryavanshi, fresh off a century against the UAE in the previous game, got off to a flying start once more at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha on Sunday, November 16.

During the third over, right-arm bowler Ubaid bowled a delivery that Vaibhav did not time effectively. After a bounce, the ball flew into the air and was caught by the cover fielder. The bowler muttered something that provoked the 14-year-old to respond angrily.

“Ball Dalna, Ja Ball Daal (Just Bowl, Go and Bowl),” Vaibhav was heard saying on the stump mic. And in the very next delivery, the Bihar batter played a sumptuous shot over cover and held his pose as the ball reached the fence in a jiffy. The Pakistani speedster was visibly rattled by Suryavanshi’s batting prowess.

India crumble after Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Naman Dhir’s fiery knocks

Vaibhav Suryavanshi did not take time to tee off

Suryavanshi was playing fast with a 45 out of 28 balls and five fours and three sixes. In the meantime Naman Dhir made 35 out of 20 balls with six boundaries and one maximum. The rest of the Indian hitters did not come to the occasion, however.

The scoring of the middle overs was delayed by the spin combination of Saad Masood, Sufiyan Muqeem and Maaz Sadaqat which took five wickets. The pacers also helped, Shahid Aziz bowled 3/24 in three overs.

India A was beaten out in 136 in 19 overs. Although it seems that there is some turn on the pitch, the team led by Jitesh Sharma would have to bowl extremely to avoid the possibility of Pakistan going after the 137-run target.
