Shubman Gill, the Indian captain, visited Guwahati and was preparing the second Test against South Africa along with his teammates. Nonetheless, the series finale is not certain about his appearance. India today reported that Shubman Gill is likely to skip the second test and that he may not even play in the subsequent three match ODI series against South Africa. In case Gill cannot participate in the second Test, Sai Sudharsan or Devdutt Padikkal might be recruited. The Vice Captain will also head the team and be referred to as Pant. India are 0-1 behind the series losing the first Test by 30 runs.
