India and Pakistan, who are arch-rivals will revive their rivalry in the 2026 T20 World Cup. On February 15, 2020, they will play a match in the group-stage at the R. Premadasa stadium in Colombo.
It came as no surprise that India did not want to play Pakistan under the same group because of the still existing tension between the two nations after the Pahalgam attack. Nevertheless, Sporstar has put the arch-rivals in the group with the United States, Namibia, and the Netherlands.
The sources show that defending champions will start campaign against the United States on February 8 in the Narendra Modi stadium, Ahmedabad and then on February 12 in the Arun Jaitley stadium in Delhi against Namibia. Suryakumar Yadav and Co. will then have to go to Colombo to play with Pakistan. India will have their last league match against Namibia on the 18 th of February in Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

If India qualifies for the semifinals, they will be placed in Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai and the first semi-final is scheduled to take place in Colombo on March 4. The final match of the 20 teams tournament will take place in Ahmedabad on March 8.
The T20 World Cup 2026 will be the 10th competition since its inception in 2007. India won the previous event, which occurred in 2024 in the Caribbean. Captain Rohit Sharma led the Asin giants to beat South Africa in the final at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.

In the T20 cricket, India has been doing extremely well lately. In September, they won the Asia Cup beating Pakistan thrice with a margin of five wickets in the final at Dubai. A five-match T20I series between Australia and Suryakumar side won 2 -1 last month in the series down under. Their second T20I match will be against South Africa in December where they are to play five matches at home.
On the other side, Pakistan is on a three match T20I tri-series in Pakistan against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
