Royal Challengers Bengaluru's Cameron Green reacts after playing a shot during the Indian Premier League (IPL) Twenty20 eliminator cricket match

Cameron Green, Liam Livingstone, Ravi Bishnoi, Venkatesh Iyer, Matheesha Pathirana, and Wanindu Hasaranga are among 45 players who have registered for the IPL 2026 auction with a maximum reserve price of INR 2 crore.

According to ESPNcricinfo, a total of 1355 players have registered for the auction, and the longlist was shared with franchises on Monday after the November 30 deadline. With squads capped at 25 players each, the day-long auction in Abu Dhabi on December 16 will have 77 seats available, 31 of which are for overseas players. Franchises have until December 5 to submit their wishlists, after which the IPL will narrow the longlist to the final auction pool.

Cameron Green of Australia fields the ball during the Australia v South Africa

Green, an Australian allrounder, is likely to fetch big interest having missed the 2025 mega-auction due to a back problem. Green is likely to attract interest from Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), being the franchises with the biggest purses at the auction, of INR 64.3 crore and INR 43.4 crore each, as well and both having slots for overseas players available currently.

After Andre Russell retired from the IPL, many analysts now consider KKR the frontrunner. The franchise released nine players, including Venkatesh Iyer, whom they signed for INR 23.5 crore last year. Their moves have created 12 open slots, six of them for overseas players. Meanwhile, CSK has nine vacancies, including four overseas slots.

The high-end market has seen several players newly released by their clubs. Sri Lankan quick Pathirana, for example, cost CSK INR 13 crore last year, but the franchise let him go because of concerns over his injury history. England allrounder Livingstone also entered the INR 2 crore bracket after RCB’s unsuccessful season and his underwhelming stint as an INR 8.75 crore signing. Indian duo Iyer and Bishnoi, who joined Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 11 crore, have now moved into the same bracket as the franchise decided to part ways with them after unimpressive performances.

Glenn Maxwell of Punjab Kings looks on during the 2025 IPL match

Australian allrounder Glenn Maxwell, whom Punjab Kings (PBKS) signed last year for INR 4.2 crore, does not appear in the longlist. Maxwell injured his finger during the 2025 season, and PBKS will now bring back another Australian, Mitchell, whom they chose to retain and who will return to Punjab once again. Wicketkeeper-batsman Josh Inglis played a major role in PBKS’ run to the final, but he will re-enter the auction pool. Inglis cannot commit to the full 2026 IPL season due to personal circumstances, and the IPL has told franchises that he is available for only 25 per cent of the season.

Players at base price for INR 2 crore

Ravi Bishnoi, Venkatesh Iyer, Mujeeb ur Rahman, Naveen ul Haq, Sean Abott, Ashton Agar, Cooper Connolly, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Cameron Green, Josh Inglis, Steve Smith, Mustafizur Rahman, Gus Atkinson, Tom Banton, Tom Curran, Liam Dawson, Ben Duckett, Dan Lawrence, Liam Livingstone, Tymal Mills, Jamie Smith, Finn Allen, Michael Bracewell, Devon Conway, Jacob Duffy, Matt Henry, Kyle Jamieson, Adam Milne, Daryll Mitchell, Will O’Rourke, Rachin Ravindra, Gerald Coetzee, David Miller, Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje, Rilee Roussouw, Tabraiz Shamsi, David Wiese, Wanindu Hasaranga, Matheesha Pathirana, Maheesh Theekshana, Jason Holder, Shai Hope, Akeal Hosein, Alzarri Joseph
