The amount of hate Ishan Kishan got for taking a break just because he was suffering from mental fatigue is unforgivable.#IshanKishan pic.twitter.com/0qQGJ1P2nn
— Ayush (@AyushCricket32) December 20, 2025 Kishan recently lead Jharkhand to its inaugural title at the 2025 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The southpaw emerged as a tournament’s leading run-getter with 517 runs in the10 games at a staggering strike rate of 197.32 which included two fifties and as many hundreds.

As good people may not know, Kishan was removed in early 2024 off the BCCI annual retainership list after he failed to attend Jharkhand in the domestic cricket despite the policy of the board that all players must attend local cricket in times when they are not on national duty.
Ishan Kishan last played for India in 2023 and has not been considered for selection since. However, he did not give up hope and returned to domestic cricket to show himself. In terms of the mega event next year, Kishan is expected to be Sanju Samson’s backup in the opening and wicketkeeping positions.
