Indian team has an impressive history in Narendra Modi stadium and has won 7 of their 10 matches in T20I. But the Men in Blue are sparing nothing before the ICC Men in T20 World Cup 2026 final between them and New Zealand on March 8 in Ahmedabad.
Although they have a good history in the venue, the painful experience of losing the final to Australia in the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup still lingers in the camp. A painful defeat on November 19, 2023, at the same stadium, became a bitter experience to India, which continues to haunt both fans and players.

With this consideration, the team management has been said to have made some precaution measures before the summit clash. News18 showed that the Indian team has settled on a different hotel set up and dressing room set up to play the final.
India Change Hotel Ahead of T20 World Cup Final
The Indian team had been accommodated at ITC Narmada during the 2023 ODI World Cup final. The players, who are yet to forget that defeat, now choose to shift to a new hotel in time of the T20 world cup final. This decision is thought to be guided by some elements of superstition in the camp. The team has been wary of its schedule of preparations in the past as well as opting not to train at all during the recent lunar eclipse.
“Nobody knows this. I am revealing this for the first time. A lot of people are afraid that Ahmedabad is an unlucky ground for India. India team delayed their practice due to a lunar eclipse in Mumbai; they have been spiritual. In Ahmedabad, the Indian team will not stay in the same hotel as the 2023 ODI World Cup final. India is also going to change their dressing room. They will be using the visiting team’s dressing room. There’s one more change, but I cannot say it now. Maybe I will reveal if India wins the T20 World Cup,” veteran journalist Vimal Kumar said.

New Zealand was the first finalist, and the International Cricket Council (ICC) had previously agreed that ITC Narmada would host them. As a result, the Indian team was unable to remain there, and their relocation to Taj Skyline was entirely accidental rather than intentional.
