This decision is thought to be guided by some elements of superstition in the camp. The team has been wary of its schedule of preparations in the past as well as opting not to train at all during the recent lunar eclipse.

India team delayed their practice due to a lunar eclipse in Mumbai; they have been spiritual. In Ahmedabad, the Indian team will not stay in the same hotel as the 2023 ODI World Cup final.
