In front of the forthcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Rajasthan Royals (RR) released a magnificent film welcome Ravindra Jadeja back into their lineup.
During Shane Warne’s spell as captain of the franchise, the all-rounder made waves with some sensational performances for Royals. He played for the Royals, who won the IPL’s first season in 2008. Eighteen years down the line, Jadeja wants to help the Rajasthan-based outfit end their title drought.
Jadeja was re-acquired by the Rajasthan Royals in a massive deal with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) during the 2026 Indian Premier League. The Men in Yellow got rid of Sanju Samson to the Royals in exchange for Jadeja and England all-rounder Sam Curran. Saurashtra all-rounder’s previous contract with CSK of INR 18 crore was cut down when he traded for INR 14 crore.
The Royals had a squandered season last year. They won four games and lost ten over 14 contests. They were just ahead of ninth-ranked CSK on the points table.
How has Jadeja fared in IPL?
After helping India win the 2024 T20 World Cup, Jadeja announced his retirement from T20I cricket. Nonetheless, the 37-year-old has kept up his IPL playing. In 254 games in the lucrative league, he has amassed 3260 runs with a strike rate of 130.25 and an average of 27.86. He has taken 170 wickets with the ball at an economy rate of 7.67 and an average of 30.52.
Jadeja scored 301 runs with a strike rate of 135.59 and an average of 33.44 last year. He took ten wickets with the ball at an economy rate of 8.56 and an average of 32.40.
