Star Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli met New Zealand rugby legend Dan Carter today ahead of IPL 2026. The tournament will start March 28.
For context, Dan Carter is a retired professional rugby player who played for the Super Rugby team Crusaders and the New Zealand national team All Blacks.
Virat Kohli’s look featured a brown casual shirt, black pants and sandals. Carter also went for a casual look, rocking a white t-shirt alongside light brown pants and white shoes. The duo were all smiles while taking a snap.

He also had a caption to his post in which he used a rugby and a cricket emoji on either side of an handshake emoji to highlight the crossover.
On his Instagram story, Kohli shared Dan Carter’s post as well.
“Pleasure meeting you @dancarter_,” he wrote.

On Saturday, March 28, RCB will play their first IPL 2026 match at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH). Having won their first IPL title in 2025, they are the reigning champions.
Virat Kohli joins RCB camp ahead of IPL 2026

Virat Kohli recently joined the RCB team and participated in their first practice session at the Chinnaswamy Stadium prior to IPL 2026 as they started preparing to defend their title.
Despite only playing ODIs for India, Kohli has been in outstanding form and will be returning after a vacation. He amassed 302 runs from three games in the series against South Africa, averaging 151 at a strike rate of 117.05 with two hundreds and a half-century. He scored 240 runs in three games at an average of 80 and a strike rate of 105.26 during the subsequent series against New Zealand, including a century and a half-century.

Given his current form, RCB will be hoping that Virat Kohli would use a similar strategy in the 2026 Indian Premier League, batting with a high strike rate and playing an offensive game at the top. The senior pro will once again play a crucial part in helping them defend their crown.
