A detailed view of the Indian Premier League Trophy

According to reports, on Thursday, March 20, the leaders of the ten teams that will compete in the next Indian Premier League are expected to report at the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s headquarters. The managers of each of the ten teams have been invited to attend in addition to the captains.

The IPL and BCCI management sent emails to the teams regarding the briefing. According to a report from Cricbuzz, the meeting is scheduled to take place at midday. It is estimated that the briefing at the Cricket Centre will run for an hour. According to reports, educating the team representatives about certain new features and modifications with IPL 2025 was the main item on the agenda. After the one-hour briefing, sponsor activities are reportedly planned at the Taj Hotel.

The event is reported to have lasted four hours in total. A client picture shoot featuring every skipper in a single frame will be the event’s finale. These kinds of pre-tournament customs typically occur in the same city as the season opening. This time, though, there appears to be a departure from the norm.

Faf du Plessis and Axar Patel at the toss

The leaders of the other teams were well-known, with the exception of Axar Patel, who was just appointed captain of the Delhi Capitals. The other teams’ captains are Shubman Gill (Gujarat Titans), Ajinkya Rahane (Kolkata Knight Riders), Sanju Samson (Rajasthan Royals), Pat Cummins (Sunrisers Hyderabad), Rajat Patidar (Royal Challengers Bengaluru), Rishabh Pant (Lucknow Super Giants), Shreyas Iyer (Punjab Kings), Hardik Pandya (Mumbai Indians), and Ruturaj Gaikwad (Chennai Super Kings).

According to the most recent information from different camps, in addition to the players, the majority of captains have reported to their respective sides. The majority of the players competing in the IPL are returning from the 2025 Champions Trophy. On Saturday, March 22, KKR will play their opening match of the season at the Eden Gardens.
