Virat Kohli of Star Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) gave a wonderful gesture to Rajasthan Royals (RR) head coach Rahul Dravid after the two teams met in a hard-fought IPL 2025 match in Jaipur on April 13. After the game, Dravid approached the RCB players on crutches for the traditional handshake.
Virat Kohli requested that the former Indian head coach halt, stating that the players will approach him on their own to shake hands. Before the IPL began, Dravid was injured while playing cricket in his hometown of Bengaluru, for those who are unaware.
A video clip of Kohli’s considerate gesture for Dravid during the RCB-RR match can be found here:
Kohli asking his injured Rahul bhai not to walk, saying the players will come to him. A small act, but it speaks volumes. Respect, care, and class. This is what makes him truly special. ❤️https://t.co/TEtmqLXkGN

RCB batting maestro Kohli initially entered the IPL playing under the leadership of Dravid in the year 2008. Under Dravid’s lead, Kohli participated prominently in the competitive matches while the coach led Team India for three years.
Under his leadership Dravid achieved success by winning the 2024 T20 World Cup for Team India. The massive contribution Kohli made in the victory earned him the Player of the Match recognition after scoring 76 runs from 59 balls during the final against South Africa.
Virat Kohli starred with the bat in RCB’s resounding win over RR

Virat Kohli tortured RR on the field with the bat before making his nice gesture to Dravid after the match. The 36-year-old expertly executed another run-chase after RCB held RR to a poor 173 for 4 in 20 overs.
The unbeaten 62 runs that Kohli hit from 45 balls included four boundaries and two maximums which led RCB to victory through nine wicket losses in the 18th over. Phil Salt teamed up with the leading batter to form an 92-run opening stand that secured the victory through 52 balls.
With 248 runs at an average of 62 and a strike rate of 143.35 in six appearances, Kohli is off to an incredible start in the 2025 Indian Premier League. This season, he has scored three half-centuries in RCB triumphs.

With their fourth victory in six games, RCB defeated RR to move up to third place in the standings. With their fourth victory in as many games, it also assisted RCB in keeping their flawless away record. But so far this season, they have lost both of their home games.
On April 18, RCB will play the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in an attempt to improve their home record.
