Virat Kohli in DC vs RCB IPL 2025 Match

In Sunday’s IPL 2025 encounter at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated the Delhi Capitals (DC) by six wickets. With seven victories in ten games, RCB thus rose to the top of the points table.

The Delhi Capitals took their first batting opportunity on a slow pitch to score 162 runs with eight wickets lost in twenty overs. Indian captain KL Rahul made 41 runs from 39 balls to be the top run scorer for Delhi Capitals followed by Tristan Stubbs who hit 34 runs off 18 deliveries in the final overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3/33) and Josh Hazlewood (2/36) performed as the top bowlers for RCB during the match.

The third over saw Axar Patel make a splendid start for his team as he dismissed Jacob Bethell on twelve runs and Devdutt Padikkal without scoring. The score reached 26-3 after RCB lost Rajat Patidar for six runs through run out in the fourth over.

At this point, Krunal Pandya entered the game and worked with Virat Kohli to create a spectacular partnership that won the match and helped RCB win the chase. While Krunal batted with positive intent to move his team closer to the mark, Kohli played intelligently on his way to a half-century off 45 balls. Tim David completed the chase in 18.3 overs with a scorching cameo of 19 (5) after Kohli was dismissed in the 18th over.

Fans were captivated by the exciting bat-ball action during Sunday night’s IPL 2025 match between DC and RCB. On X (previously known as Twitter), they shared amusing memes to show their reactions.

Virat Kohli Hails RCB’s Top Win on Tricky Delhi Pitch in IPL 2025

Virat Kohli and KL Rahul during DC vs RCB IPL 2025 match

Virat Kohli took over as the new orange cap holder after the game. With 443 runs from 10 games, he is presently leading the IPL 2025 run statistics. After his side defeated DC, Kohli remarked:

“Well it was a top win, especially looking at the surface. This wicket played a lot differently to the other wicket. I keep checking with the dug out that what is my role during a run chase. Krunal was outstanding with the bat, we were waiting for him to come into the tournament with the bat as well and he played a top knock.

Virat Kohli

“The total on the board, who are the bowlers whom you can target and who are the bowlers are difficult. My focus is always on rotating strikes, it’s about stitching a partnership and this year you are seeing you just can’t tee off from ball one. You have to rotate strike on a slow wicket, understand what the situation demands of me and keep rotating strike and not remain stagnant.”
