On Tuesday, May 27, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) faced Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow in the final league match of the present IPL 2025 season. To guarantee a spot in the top two, RCB won the high-scoring match by six wickets.
LSG captain Rishabh Pant came back to form with a scorching century after being put to bat first. With 118 off 61 deliveries, the southpaw was still undefeated. Mitchell Marsh, the opener, struck his sixth half-century of the edition, continuing his fantastic form.

The stand-in captain delivered a stunning knock, finishing undefeated on 85 from 33 balls. A significant batting effort by Mayank Agarwal, who scored 41* off 23 deliveries, was another contribution.
RCB recorded their most successful run chase in the IPL, surpassing the goal in 18.4 overs. While Avesh Khan and Akash Singh each took one wicket, Will O’Rourke took two.
Bengaluru finished second in the points table with 19 points from the league stage after the victory. However, with 12 points from 14 games, LSG finished in seventh place.

Rishabh Pant had a strong finish to his otherwise dreary IPL 2025 campaign. After being selected by LSG for an incredible ₹27 crore at the big auction, the southpaw made headlines.
However, the most expensive player in league history had a horrible season due to inconsistent performance. Pant’s brilliant century against RCB silenced his doubters.

2. Jitesh Sharma hugs Rishabh Pant after LSG skipper withdraws appeal for run out at non-striker’s end

The 17th over of the run chase had a lot of drama. Jitesh Sharma was caught at point on the first ball by Digvesh Rathi. However, the spinner’s backfoot no-ball allowed the hitter to continue playing.
Rathi smashed the stumps at the non-striker’s end on the last ball of the same over by stopping before bowling the delivery. When the stumps were removed, Jitesh was not inside the crease.
