MS Dhoni, former India captain, was inducted into the International Cricket Council (ICC) Hall of Fame on Monday, June 9, during an official event in London. The 43-year-old is the 11th Indian (ninth men’s) to reach the elite group of players.
Dhoni is the most successful India captain in the history of the team with three ICC titles in his kitty, including the ODI and the T20I World Cup. He also led Team India to become No.1 side in World in Test cricket for the first time. As skipper he led India to 179 international wins, an Indian record.
In the international cricket of over 538 matches, MS Dhoni featured for India. He collected 17,266 runs as wicketkeeper batter. In ODIs, the Ranchi-born player was a terrific player as he scored 10,773 in 350 ODIs with the help of 10 centuries and 73 half centuries. Only the sixth Indian batter to score 10,000 runs in 50 overs.

“It is an honour” – MS Dhoni reacts to ICC Hall of Fame induction

MS Dhoni acknowledged his happiness at being inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame among other great. He informed the ICC (via ANI):
“It is an honour to be named in the ICC Hall of Fame, which recognises the contributions of cricketers across generations and from all over the world. To have your name remembered alongside such all-time greats is a wonderful feeling. It is something that I will cherish forever.”

On August 15, 2020, MS Dhoni decided to retire from International cricket. But, wicketkeeper-batter is yet to consider calling wraps on Indian Premier League (IPL). Recently he lead the IPL 2025men representing the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
