Cameron Green, an Australian all-rounder, appeared dumb with the bat again on Day 2 of the WTC 2025 final against Australia at Lord’s in London on Thursday, June 12. For a two-ball duck, the right-hander batter left the field. In the second innings of Australia, he was caught behind once more by the same Proteas bowler, Kagiso Rabada.
In the first essay, Green had already left for four runs off three deliveries. After missing the 2024–25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy and the away Test matches in Sri Lanka because of several injuries, this was his first match.
Cameron Green’s poor batting performance in the WTC 2025 final drew criticism from fans on X. A user wrote:
“Does Cameron Green have pics of the selectors? The guy is a fraud.”
Another user commented:
“The obsession with Cameron Green needs to end..”
A third user added:
“Cameron Green should honestly retire from Test cricket. This format is not for him.”

Australia Survive Collapse to End Day 2 with Strong Lead Over South Africa

Temba Bavuma, the captain of the Proteas, and David Bedingham showed good purpose with the bat on day two of the WTC 2025 final, adding 95 runs to their overnight total. With six scalps, Pat Cummins was the main culprit.
South Africa was bowled out for 138 in their opening innings, however they resumed on 43-3. Temba Bavuma, captain, and David Bedingham both fought hard, scoring 36 (84) and 45 (111), respectively.
Australia skipper Pat Cummins finished with 6/28, while Mitchell Starc took two wickets.
Australia replied by being 37/2 in the second innings after 13.1 overs, with Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne taking the strike. In their second innings, they have increased their lead to 111.

Kagiso Rabada, who claimed a fifer in the first innings, has been the standout bowler with the Proteas in the second essay. He has dismissal openers Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green.
