Joe Root of England acknowledges the applause on reaching his century during day three of the 4th Rothesay Test Match

Star England batter Joe Root got a standing ovation from the crowd and his teammates when he scored his 38th hundred. This happened on Day 3 of the fourth Test match against India in Manchester.

Joe Root scored a four off Anshul Kamboj on the first ball of the 96 th over to achieve his milestone. It was a bad leg-side ball and he just pushed it to the fine-leg boundary.

Even his teammates and the staff who were on the balcony joined them to give him a standing ovation as they cheered him. Joe Root smiled, kissed his helmet, and lifted his bat as recognition of the crowd.
