India will defend the Asia Cup in a month in the United Arab Emirates. On September 9, Afghanistan will face Hong Kong at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi to get the eight-team competition under way.
The India campaign begins the following day, they hosting, the United Arab Emirates, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The Men in Blue are planned to arrive in the United Arab Emirates on September 4. Recent reports, nevertheless, show that the team will not be visiting the West Asian country as a team.

NDTV Sports reported that the team players will arrive in the UAE in groups. The team usually gets together in Mumbai before heading out to a tournament. For logistical reasons, the squad members will be permitted to travel from their respective cities. On September 5, India is expected to hold their first training session in the United Arab Emirates.
“All the players will arrive in Dubai by the evening of September 4, and the first nets session will be held on September 5 at the ICC Academy. Factoring in logistical convenience, the players will be allowed to fly into Dubai from their respective cities,” a senior BCCI official was quoted as saying by the aforementioned source.
The Asia Cup is taken in twenty-two overs in 2025. The Indian team will be headed by Suryakumar Yadav who will have Shubman Gill as his deputy.
“Obviously, a few will travel from Mumbai, but asking some of the others to first come to Mumbai and then fly to Dubai doesn’t make sense. In any case, Dubai is a short-duration flight compared to other international flights,” the official added.

Under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, India won the 2025 Champions Trophy, their final white-ball assignment. By the way, the United Arab Emirates hosted that competition as well. With eight victories in the continental competition, India is the most successful team in Asia Cup history.
