Abhishek Sharma became the first Indian to hit a six off the first ball of a T20I innings twice. Against Pakistan, he smashed Shaheen Afridi’s opening delivery straight over the fence.

Earlier in the same Asia Cup, he had done the same against the UAE. Only a few other Indians—Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Sanju Samson—have done this once.

3. Highest opening partnership for India in T20Is against Pakistan

The previous record was 77 runs by Gautam Gambhir and Ajinkya Rahane in 2012. This partnership laid the foundation for India’s win.

Abhishek became the fastest batter to reach 50 T20I sixes, achieving the milestone in 331 balls. He hit his second six of the fourth over against Abrar Ahmad to reach it.

The previous record was held by Evin Lewis, who reached 50 sixes in 366 balls. Abhishek now has 53 sixes in 359 T20I balls.

1. Second fastest fifty in IND-PAK T20Is

Sharma’s half-century came off just 24 balls, the second fastest in T20Is between India and Pakistan. He reached it with a boundary off Saim Ayub in the eighth over.

The fastest fifty still belongs to Mohammad Hafeez, who did it in 23 balls in 2012. Abhishek also broke Yuvraj Singh’s record for the fastest fifty by an Indian against Pakistan.
