Former cricketer Mohammad Kaif expressed his opinion on the strategy of Jasprit Bumrah in their bowling action during Asia cup 2025. He indicated that Bumrah likes to bowl after his body is well warmed up, and that is why he avoids injuries.
Kaif pointed out that Bumrah has bowled three powerplay overs during this tournament which allows his opponents to get settled by not being bowled to early. He thought that this would play in favor of rival teams.
He also likened it to the days of Rohit Sharma captaincy when the use of Bumrah was used in more vital overs such as the 1st, 13 th, 17 th and 19 th. That was a better plan to utilize the skills of Bumrah (Kaif).

“Bumrah under Rohit would generally bowl overs 1, 13, 17, 19. Under Surya, in Asia cup, he bowled a three-overs spell at the start. To avoid injury, Bumrah these days, prefers to bowl while his body is warmed up. 1 over of Bumrah in the remaining 14 overs is a huge relief for batters, against stronger teams at World Cup, this could hurt india.”
Bumrah called the reviews inaccurate and did not agree with the comments made by Kaif. The 31 year old reacted to the post by saying:
“Inaccurate before inaccurate again.”

“Not at His Peak” – Mohammad Kaif Analyzes Jasprit Bumrah’s Asia Cup 2025 Form

Jasprit Bumrah hasn’t performed at his peak during the 2025 Asia Cup, according to Mohammad Kaif. Following India’s Super Four victory over Pakistan by six wickets, he made these comments.
Bumrah had a disappointing performance against the Men in Green, finishing 4-0-45-0. In his September 23 YouTube video, Kaif offered the following commentary on India’s speed spearhead’s performances in the competition:
“I think somewhere he is not at his peak. Bumrah, who is known for his speed, accuracy, and precise yorkers, seems to be struggling with that signature weapon of his. In the last few matches, his yorkers have been turning into full tosses but I hope he comes out of it soon. There is no doubt that he is a very great bowler.”

India will take on Sri Lanka in Dubai on Friday, September 26. With a spot in the final already secured under Suryakumar Yadav’s leadership, the Men in Blue will aim to carry their winning momentum into the title clash on Sunday, September 28.
