The row over Asia Cup trophy is still in progress as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the chairman of Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Mohsin Naqvi still retains the silverware. The problem still has not been solved in spite of numerous demands, which has strained the relationship between the two cricket boards.
Cricket According to the reports, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given another warning to Naqvi requesting him to hand over the trophy back to India. Failure to do so would be subject to be discussed in the ICC meeting that would be held in Dubai the following month.
The controversy started when the Indian players refused to accept the trophy directly from Naqvi during the post-match presentation in Dubai. This was due to his position as Pakistan’s Interior Minister. Following the event, Naqvi reportedly took the trophy and kept it in his Dubai office.

Talks to end the standoff have faced more hurdles after Naqvi allegedly demanded a special ceremony for India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav to collect the trophy from him personally. The BCCI rejected this proposal, stating that the trophy and medals should instead be sent directly to the ACC headquarters for formal collection.
It has been reported that the two boards of Afghanistan and Sri Lanka are in support of India in the Asia Cup trophy controversy. This support has not seen PCB and ACC chairman Mohsin Naqvi give back the trophy, prompting the BCCI to organize a formal protest in the impending ICC board meeting in Dubai.

The BCCI has also warned Naqvi not to propagate complaints among the ICC members. This is upon his reported frustration over the same saying that he was embarrassed during the presentation ceremony when the Indian players refused to take the trophy of him.
India, in the meantime, won the Asia Cup 2025 title as it defeated Pakistan in the final. The Men in Blue had an overwhelming campaign and defeated their arch-rivals thrice in the tournament and emerged as champions without a single defeat.
