Jasprit Bumrah, Team India’s premier bowler, has adopted a harsh stance against critics as he celebrates ten years in international cricket. After earning the Player of the Match award for his bowling effort in the third T20I against New Zealand, Bumrah questioned why he was only given six months of international cricket.
The cricketer, who was born in Ahmedabad, made his debut for his country during the 2016 ODI series in Australia. The 32-year-old is currently one of the best all-format bowlers due to his steady results in all formats throughout the years.

Bumrah responded that people didn’t expect him to play for long because of his unusual bowling movement when asked how it felt to finish ten years in international cricket. The top bowler expressed his delight in representing his nation and his desire that the trip will continue. According to Cricbuzz, he stated during the post-game presentation:
“Oh, it feels really good. I, as a child, only dreamt to play one game and you know, 10 years playing for kind of, playing for your country, being not in order after being of your fast bowler, you know, fighting aches and pains, assumptions, opinions. Because when people saw me, I was not supposed to play for long. People gave me six months. So this is something that I was really proud of that playing for your country for so long and hopefully the journey continues because that is something that, you know, it’s a feather in my cap and I’ll keep it with me.”
In the third Twenty20 International in Guwahati, the right-arm speedster was outstanding. He removed Tim Seifert with his first ball. He finished with incredible numbers of 4-0-17-3 after dismissing Mitchell Santner and Kyle Jamieson as well.
“I was keeping an eye when Harshit and Hardik bowled” – Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah described his bowling plan, saying that he had to try other possibilities because the ball didn’t swing as much when he came on. The star bowler clarified:
“Yeah, I was keeping an eye when Harshit and Hardik bowled what is the best option over here. Obviously when I came, the ball had become a little scuffed up. So the ball usually, the white ball doesn’t swing for long. So what was my best option, how I wanted to try. So I tried to do that.”
Team India needed just 10 overs to hunt down the target and secure an unbeatable 3-0 series lead with a modest 154 to win.
