In the 2025 Women’s World Cup semi-final between Australia and India that happened on a Friday, October 30 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, Australia captain Alyssa Healy missed a regulation opportunity that would provide Jemimah Rodrigues with a big relief. The right-handed batter was on 82 and had formed a record partnership with Harmanpreet Kaur on the third wicket on the run chase.
Jemimah Rodrigues, ranked third, had a significant duty to do in India’s bid to reach a massive 339-run mark for a position in the final. She took the game on and increased the speed of the innings as the Women in Blue attempted to generate momentum and put pressure on the opposition.

Before the rotating strike, Harmanpreet Kaur scoring a 33rd over of the innings, off the first ball of Alana King, struck a boundary. Jemimah Rodrigues tried her favourite sweep shot, but only received a top edge. The bowler and the wicketkeeper raced in to take the ball, which went upwards and landed close to the pitch.

Although Alana King gave up on the try and stepped away, allowing the skipper to take the catch without complication, Healy failed to collect the ball with his gloves, resulting in a missed opportunity. Take a peek at the key moment in the competition right here:
