Indian women cricket team made history when they won the maiden Women World Cup on November 2nd at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. The air was charged with the Harmanpreet Kaur and her team celebrating the memorable win with fans and team members. It was an evening of happiness, pride and emotionalism that will be remembered over generations in Indian cricket.

One of the numerous rejoicings that followed was the tribute made by pacer Kranti Gaud on the field. The pose Gaud posed in immediately viraled – a recreation of the most famous shoulder-shrug celebration performed by Hardik Pandya. It is a pose that can be referred to as the symbol of the soothing confidence, and Pandya used it in his 2024 T20 world cup and 2025 champions trophy victories of India.

Well-wishers inundated her mail with congratulations, and applauded her as being able to draw the spirit and the attitude of modern Indian cricket.

Gaud’s Crucial Spells and Team Grit Power

Her returns at the tournament were modest, but Gaud delivered crucial performances in key moments. She claimed nine wickets in eight matches with an economy rate of 5.73, providing vital breakthroughs against Pakistan, South Africa, and New Zealand. Her calm composure under pressure played a quiet yet decisive role in India’s historic triumph.

India’s path to glory was far from easy. They advanced from the group stage in fourth place but peaked at the perfect time. The much-anticipated final against South Africa came after a thrilling semifinal, where Jemimah Rodrigues struck an unbeaten century. In the title clash, Shafali Verma blasted 87 runs, and Deepti Sharma’s five-wicket haul sealed a 52-run victory — making India the first country to win the Women’s World Cup in cricket and ushering in a golden era for the nation’s game.
