The Asia Cup 2025 will be launched on Tuesday, September 9, with Afghanistan and Hong Kong playing at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Since the Asian teams are preparing to compete in T20 World Cup, which is going to be hosted in India and Sri Lanka the next year, the current year will feature competition in T20 format.

The Asia Cup 2025 will include eight teams in total. Two groups of four have been formed from the sides. Group A includes the hosts, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and India. Group B includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong.

In their group, each team will play the other three sides once. Following that, the top two teams from each group advance to the Super Four phase. The top two teams will face off in the Asia Cup 2025 final in Dubai on September 28 when the Super Four round is over.

1. Hundreds in Asia Cup T20

There are just two players, who have scored centuries in men T20 Asia Cup. In Dubai in 2022, Virat Kohli scored 122 against Afghanistan and in 2016 Babar Hayat of Hong Kong scored 122 against Oman.

2. Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s five-fer

Bhuvneshwar Kumar will have an important role to play in the upcoming series, England vs India

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has the highest five-wicket haul in the tournament. In 2022, he won 5-4 over Afghanistan and also won 4-26 over Pakistan in the same issue.

3. 200+ run scorers

Only four players have hit 200 plus in Asia Cup T20 history Virat Kohli (429), Mohammad Rizwan (281), Rohit Sharma (271) and Babar Hayat (235). Close behind with 196 runs is the Afghanistan Ibrahim Zadran.

4. Leading wicket-takers

Six bowlers have more than 10 wickets in the competition. Bhuvneshwar leads the list with 13 then Amjad Javed (12). Al-Amin Hossain, Mohammad Naveed, Hardik Pandya and Rashid Khan are all 11 wicket takers.

5. 100+ partnerships

Four of more than 100 run partnerships have taken place. The largest one was in 2022 when Kohli and KL Rahul scored 119 against Afghanistan. Other century stands are Rizwan -Zaman (116), Malik-Akmal (114*) and Chandimal-Dilshan (110).
