Vaibhav Sooryavanshi celebrates a brilliant knock against RCB with a confident bat raise

RCB lost their winning streak courtesy of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Rajasthan Royals added to it as the hosts thumped the Rajat Patidar-led side at the ACA Barsapara Stadium, Guwahati, in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Match 16. Sooryavanshi, who struck a thunderous 78 with only 26 hits, was the winner of the Player of the Match due to his great power-hitting.

But what was even more special was the fact that, former RCB captain and star cricketer Virat Kohli himself came up to Vaibhav and autographed his match cap in his way of appreciating the mind-blowing performance of the 15-year-old with the bat in a knock that had eight fours and seven sixes. RR uploaded a video in which Sooryavanshi is seen showing off his cap that was signed by the great cricketer.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi racked up 78 off 26 balls

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi unleashes a fearless shot against RCB

Sooryanshi received the Player of the Match award and said that he did not have any plans on cutting a cake on Friday night, since RR had to take an early morning flight ahead of their next game in Hyderabad. He also indicated that the fact that he is against the greatest bowlers in the world such as Jasprit Bumrah, Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar does not make him panic too much since he just takes the ball and plays it based on its own merit and does not worry about whoever bowls it.
