Women premier league (WPL) all five franchises have officially declared their list of retained players at the end of the fourth T20 I match between India and Australia. This is the start of the preparation of the much awaited WPL 2026 mega auction that will take place on the 27th of November in New Delhi.
Surprisingly, retention strategies of the teams were very different. Mumbai Indians Women and Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women made expected decisions, without losing their main groups. UP Warriorz Women however surprised everybody with the fact that they had only one player, a talent, but uncapped. In the meantime, Delhi Capitals Women and Gujarat Giants Women retained the two of their foreign players, just like Mumbai.

The future season in the WPL 2026 will be a thrilling affair and the mega auction will provide even further with the excitement. The teams and team management will seek the right combination of experience and young talent as they prepare to meet what may be the most competitive season to date. The upcoming action-packed auction and a thrilling tournament can be anticipated by the fans.
