Ishan Kishan took a juggling catch behind the stumps to eliminate David Miller in India’s T20 World Cup 2026 warm-up match against South Africa on Wednesday, February 4. India won the match by 30 runs.
South Africa was forced to settle for 210/7 when chasing 241. Axar Patel’s third ball of the eleventh over was a brilliant delivery that struck David Miller. Axar bowled flat and across to the left-hander, resulting in a tiny inside edge. Miller’s attempt to pull the ball was unsuccessful, as Ishan Kishan made a juggling catch with the gloves behind. He struggled at first, but eventually held on.
Miller was so removed for 13 runs from ten balls. Kishan’s catch demonstrated his quick reflexes behind the stumps.

— Yash MSdian ™️ 🦁 (@itzyash07) February 5, 2026 Axar was joined by Abhishek Sharma, Varun Chakaravarthy, Shivam Dube, and Arshdeep Singh in taking wickets. Ishan Kishan also contributed to Ryan Rickelton’s expulsion by pocketing a top edge safely.
Ishan Kishan scored a brilliant fifty earlier in the game

As Ishan Kishan showed his talent in gloves, he preserved his flamboyant shape with the bat. He started off batting along with Abhishek Sharma and was blazing with a half-century score when he was retired.
The left-hander made 53 runs out of 20 balls only. His best innings were two boundaries and seven maximums and he had a strike rate of 265. The success of Kishan with bat and behind the wicket is giving him an advantage to open with Abhishek in the T20 world cup 2026, before Sanju Samson.
Moreover, the demand by the management that Kishan remain and open in the warm-up game is one of the precursors of what will occur next.
Ishan Kishan also performed fairly in the recently concluded T20I series with New Zealand. He hit 215 runs with a 53.75 average and a 231.18 strike rate in four games with one 100 and one 50.
This was his first series with India after 2023. He however came back following a very good showing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 202526.
