Yashasvi Jaiswal debuted internationally in 2023 in a Test series with the West Indies. He made a good start, making a century during his debut. The southpaw has not been looking back since as he has striking runs all over the world against the best bowling attacks.
He has already achieved 2428 runs in 26 Tests, and his average is 51.66 and a strike rate of 66.43. The Mumbai slugger has 12 fifties and seven centuries. It gives him two centuries with which to strike against England.

Yashasvi however realizes that he has a long way to go before he can be ranked among the Indian legends like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. The opening batsman in a recent interview before the two match Test series against the South African team mentioned that he will be learning under the two former captains of India but will never rely on that talent on his own.
“What Rohit Bhaiya and Virat Bhai have done in their careers is incredible. They’ve inspired an entire generation, including me. I see it as an opportunity to learn from them and do my best. I know I can’t fill their shoes, but I’ll back my strengths and play with confidence,” Yashasvi said while speaking exclusively to JioHotstar.
Yashasvi will be brimming with confidence having done well against England in Anderson-Tendulkar trophy and following the home series with the west Indies.

During the England trip, he was able to score 411 out of 10 innings averaging 41.10. Yashasvi had two fifties and the same number of centuries as India made 2-2. Meanwhile, in the West Indies, the 23 years old scored the most runs, with an average of 73, which made him the leader of the run scorer with a total of 219 in three innings.
Yashasvi Jaiswal will be very instrumental during the series against the World Test Champions South Africa. The Suriya-born will aim to give the Asian giants a good start and KL Rahul will be in the top of the order.
