India all-rounder Hardik Pandya was awarded Man of the Match as Men in Blue defeated Namibia by 93 runs at Arun Jaitley Stadium here on Thursday, February 12, in their second group game of the 2026 T20 World Cup. Opting to bat, India scored 209 for nine in their 20 overs and then dismissed Namibia for 116 in 18.2 overs.

Second-highest score by an Indian at No. 6 in T20 World Cup4. First Indian to score 50 and take 4 wickets in a T20I5. Most sixes for India at T20Is at No. 6 or lower

Ishan Kishan was India’s highest run-getter with 61 off 24 balls, while Pandya smashed his way to a fifty from just 28 deliveries that included four fours and as many sixes. Bowling, the right-arm seamer bowled his four overs and picked 2-21. The all-rounder picked up the key wickets of Bernard Scholtz (4) and Ben Shikongo (0).

Pandya is the record holder of several T20I records. Here we have a look at five incredible records that the Team India all-rounder holds in T20Is.

1. Yet another Indian cricketer to join the 2,000-run and 100-wicket club in T20Is

Pandya is the only Indian cricketer to accomplish the double of 2,000-plus runs and 100-plus wickets in T20Is. He did so in his sensational 63 from 25 balls against South Africa at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad during December 2025. He raced to his half-century off 16 balls during this knock.

Pandya has so far played 131 T20Is scoring 2,128 runs at a strike rate of 145.05 with eight fifties. With the ball, he’s taken 107 wickets at 26.70. The other players with 2000-plus runs and 100-plus wickets in T20Is are Shakib Al Hasan, Mohammad Nabi and Sikandar Raza and Virandeep Singh. Pandya is the lone pace-bowling all-rounder in that celebrated company.

2. Indian cricketer with most 50 scores and at least one wicket

The Ahmedabad T20I also provided the fourth example of Pandya making 50-plus runs and taking at least one wicket in a T20 match. He broke Yuvraj Singh’s record after tamashashing 63 from just 25 balls and then took the wicket of Brevis. Yuvraj made a fifty and took at least one wicket in T20I on three instances.

The T20 World Cup 2026 encounter against Namibia in Delhi was Pandya’s fifth match when he managed to score a half-century and took at least one wicket. Interestingly, it also includes Virat Kohli – he has done it twice – against Pakistan in the 2012 T20 World Cup and West Indies in the 2016 T20 World cup.

3. Second-highest score by an Indian at No. 6 in T20 World Cup

Pandya’s 39-ball 81 is also the highest by an Indian No. 6 in T20 World Cup history. He reached the milestone against Bangladesh in a Super 8 contest at North Sound in 2024. The right-hander clobbered a fine unbeaten 50 off just 27 balls where he smacked four fours and three sixes while the Men in Blue beat Bangladesh by 50 runs.

The previous best was held by former India captain, MS Dhoni who made 45 off 33 against South Africa at Durban in 2007. Suresh Raina scored 45 off 34 balls against South Africa in Colombo in 2012 to equal the record. Pandya had also scored an unbeaten 40 off 37 against Pakistan in Melbourne in the last edition in 2022.

4. First Indian to score 50 and take 4 wickets in a T20I

Hardik Pandya became the first Indian cricketer to score 50 runs and take four wickets in a T20I match. He made history in a match against England in Southampton in July 2022. Experienced all-rounder smashed 51 off 33 balls, including six fours and a six, as India made 198-8 after batting first.

With the ball, the right-arm pacer returned figures of 4-33 in four overs as India won by 50 runs. Pandya removed Dawid Malan, Liam Livingstone, Jason Roy and Sam Curran. Dwayne Bravo, Shane Watson and Mohammed Hafeez are the other cricketers to have picked 4 wickets and scored a 50 in same T20I.

5. Most sixes for India at T20Is at No. 6 or lower

Pandya has also struck most sixes for India while playing at No. 6 position or lower in T20Is. The right-handed batsman has hit 42 sixes in 45 innings. Dhoni is behind with 23 sixes in 42 innings. Additionally, Shivam Dube has struck 20 sixes in as many innings, Axar Patel 20 in 47 and Dinesh Karthik 18 off of just 36.
