India’s score of 175/7 is now the highest total in a T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan. They broke their own record, which they had set during the 2022 T20 World Cup.

In that 2022 match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Pakistan scored 159/8 and India chased it down by making 160/6. At that time, 160 was the highest total between the two teams in T20 World Cups.

Virat Kohli holds the top spot with an unbeaten 82 in the 2022 T20 World Cup in Melbourne. Mohammad Rizwan is second with an unbeaten 79 in Dubai in 2021. Kohli is third with an unbeaten 78 in 2012. Kishan moved past Gautam Gambhir, who had scored 75 in 2007.

3. Highest score by an Indian opener against Pakistan in T20Is

Kishan’s 77 is also the highest score by an Indian opener against Pakistan in T20Is. The earlier record belonged to current head coach Gautam Gambhir.

Gambhir had scored 75 off 54 balls in the final of the first T20 World Cup in 2007 at Johannesburg. India won that match and became the first champions of the tournament.

2. Most wickets in India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup matches

Hardik Pandya now has the most wickets in T20 World Cup matches between India and Pakistan. In this match, he took 2/16 in three overs.

He now has eight wickets against Pakistan in T20 World Cups. Earlier, he was tied with Irfan Pathan and Haris Rauf, who both had six wickets each. Hardik has now moved ahead and holds the record on his own.

India’s captain Suryakumar Yadav (2L) and Tilak Varma (L) celebrate their team’s win against Pakistan at the end of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup group stage match

India’s 61-run win in the 2026 T20 World Cup is their biggest victory over Pakistan in T20Is by runs. Their previous biggest win was by 11 runs in 2012 in Ahmedabad, when India scored 192/5 and restricted Pakistan to 181/7.

Other close wins include a six-run victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup in New York and a five-run win in the final of the 2007 edition in Johannesburg.
