On Sunday, February 15, India defeated Pakistan by 61 runs in their encounter in the T20 World Cup 2026. The victory made the Men in Blue more dominant in the tournament and their head-to-head record in Pakistan was already favorable 8-1.
India led a good score of 175/7 after they had a better idea of leading by the bat. The best performer was Ishan Kishan who struck a glittering 77 on only 40 hits with 10 fours and three sixes. Suryakumar Yadav (32) and Shivam Dube (27) also contributed well towards taking the total to a competitive figure.
Pakistan responded by being bowled out in the first 18 overs with 114 points making the match one-sided. Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel and Varun Chakaravarthy further contributed to the victory by taking two wickets apiece to win a decisive match.

India qualify for T20 World Cup 2026 Super 8s

India, who crushed Pakistan, climbed to the top of the table after their massive triumph. They now have three wins from three matches, six points, and an impressive net run-rate of +3.050 in Group A.
With that victory, the Men in Blue advanced to the Super 8s of the T20 World Cup 2026. They kicked off their campaign with a 29-run win over the USA, followed it up with a dominant 93-run victory against Namibia, and then secured their third straight win by defeating Pakistan.
Suryakumar Yadav and his team will face the Netherlands in their final group-stage fixture on February 18. They will aim to carry an unbeaten record into the Super 8s. The defending champions remain firmly on course to retain their T20 World Cup crown.
