Two days after a fan broke through security in Ranchi during the first ODI against South Africa to see Virat Kohli, a same occurrence occurred in Raipur on Wednesday, December 3. In a video published on X, officials are seen dragging a spectator off the ground.
The incident took place during one of the drinks breaks when a fan trespassed into the playing area to meet Virat Kohli, who had just scored his second consecutive ODI hundred. A spectator had similarly breached security during the first ODI in Ranchi and touched the 37-year-old’s feet to celebrate his ton.

Here’s a video of the supporter in Raipur being carried off the field:

Virat Kohli’s 53rd ODI century in vain as South Africa level series in Raipur

Virat Kohli laid the groundwork for India’s massive total, scoring 102 runs off 93 deliveries and sharing a 195-run stand with Ruturaj Gaikwad (105). Later, KL Rahul hammered an unbeaten 66 off 43 deliveries to lead Team India to 358/5 in the allotted 50 overs.
Although Quinton de Kock was dismissed for 8 in the first 10 overs, Aiden Markram and Temba Bavuma put on a 101-run stand to lay the groundwork for the tall run chase. Following Markram’s defeat for 110 to Harshit Rana, Matthew Breetzke and Dewald Brevis set things in motion with their quick half-centuries. The 92-run partnership, aided largely by Brevis’ 54 off 34 deliveries, including three sixes, made things extremely comfortable for the Proteas.

Even after losing Breetzke (68) and Marco Jansen (2) in successive overs, Corbin Bosch kept his calm to take the visitors home with an unbeaten 29. It is also the joint most successful run-chase against India in ODIs. The third one-dayer is scheduled on Saturday in Vishakhapatnam.
