Virat Kohli has been the biggest newsmaker of his on-field circus acts. The great batsman reproduced the step of Temba Bavuma during the 3rd ODI between India and South Africa on Saturday when the visiting skipper was caught off Ravindra Jadeja’s delivery at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam.
Bavuma played cautiously for his 48-run innings of 67, entering in the first over when Arshdeep Singh had Ryan Rickelton caught behind without scoring. The South African captain had added 113 runs for the fourth wicket in 121 balls with Quinton de Kock.
India needed a wicket to get back into the game. Jadeja gave it with the last ball of the match’s 21st over. The left-arm spinner dangled a ball outside off-stump, encouraging Bavuma to hit a drive. The small batter could only slice it to Virat Kohli at backward point. Kohli made no mistake in taking the routine catch, but after being dismissed, he opted to celebrate it in his own unique way.

The former India skipper mimicked Bavuma’s style of walking, much to the amusement of his mates. It took the audience a while to compute what Kohli was up to, but when they did, they cheered him on wildly.

Prasidh Krishna brings India back into the game with double strike

Prasidh Krishna allowed 27 runs in his first two overs. KL Rahul, the stand-in skipper, summoned him back for his second spell in the 27th over. The right-arm seamer allowed only two runs in his first over.
Krishna took confidence from this and outperformed Matthew Breetzke in his follow-up. He got the in-form batter out LBW on a ball that came back in after pitching. Four balls later, Krishna dismissed Aiden Markram, who chipped a decent length delivery to Virat Kohli at cover.
The visitors lost their way from 168/2 to 170/4 after 29 overs. They’ll need to build, and the bonus is that the doughty Quinton de Kock remains at the wicket.
