Team India’s aggressive batsman Rohit Sharma was caught in an uncalled for situation immediately after arriving at Mumbai from Jamnagar on 4th January. The 28-year-old shared his discomfort after being mobbed by fans at the airport – with footage of it all on social media in no time.
In a video shared online, Rohit Sharma is seen reacting angrily as he’s surrounded by fans and some of them try to shake his hand. The Indian batsman pointing fingers at the crowd and asking them to make space for him seemed to have irked him. After giving a high five to one of the fans, he was surrounded by more, which prompted him to respond violently.

— 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐗𝐭𝐫𝐚. (@cricket12craze) January 4, 2026 Rohit reportedly travelled to Jamnagar with his family to celebrate his daughter Samaira’s birthday. The cricketer, who was born in Nagpur, had come to Mumbai from a private family function when the incident happened.

In cricketing terms, the stylish hitter will be back in action later this month when Team India locks horns against New Zealand in a three-match ODI series beginning on January 11 at Vadodara.
The right-hander had a remarkable year in 2025 ending the ICC batting rankings as No.1. Last year he averaged 50 in the format with two hundreds and six fifties, and won the Champions Trophy as captain, leading from the front with a Player of the Match performance in the final.
