India beat Namibia by 93 runs to go atop Group A of the T20 World Cup 2026. The Men in Blue won the all-important match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Thursday February 12.
Namibia called right and decided to bowl first on a belter of a track. Sanju Samson (22 off eight balls), who came in place of Abhishek Sharma, launched as many sixes but was out in the second over. Opener Ishan Kishan also went on the rampage against the Namibia bowlers, perishing for 61 from only 24 balls.
Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav fell for 25 and 21 respectively as the Namibia spinners did well to pull things back after India made a cracking start within the powerplay. India went from 104/1 in the seventh over to 124/4 inside the 12th.

Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube then combined to forge an 81-run partnership with each other for the fifth wicket off 39 balls. But after Hardik was bowled out for a 28-ball 52, Namibia continued to jab at the wickets column and conceded only 25 runs in the final four overs.
The hosts eventually ended their 20 overs on 209/9. Captain Gerhard Erasmus was the best of the bowlers ending with figures of 4/20 in his four-over spell.
In response, Namibia and got off to a decent start with the openers sharing 33 runs in less than four overs. Arshdeep Singh provided India the first breakthrough when he removed Jan Frylinck. Louren Steenkamp and Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton put on a useful partnership to propel Namibia to 67 in seven overs.

But India fought back in middle overs and Varun Chakaravarthy was the wrecker-in-chief. The mystery spinner bowled 2 overs and picked 3 wickets. Namibia were 67/1, they were bundled out for 116. Hardik and Axar Patel finished with two wickets each, while Arshdeep, Dube and Jasprit Bumrah picked up one scalp apiece.
